"Films offer a chance to escape from reality. I'm not scared easily, but a world without them would surely be enough to scare the hell out of me."

Rowan Radojevich Kelley is an American screenwriter, director, and producer. He is known for frequently working within the genres of fantasy, horror, adventure, science fiction, and thriller. Rowan wrote, produced, and directed his first short film, "A Darker Place: A Horror Short Film," during the 2020 quarantine when he was 17. With strong connections to 80s, 90s, and early 2000s filmmaking styles, aesthetics, and techniques, Rowan's work can often be distinguished by his use of stories that commonly fall under the "dark fantasy," "coming-of-age," and "ordinary meets extraordinary" sub-genres in unison with both grand and "vintage-esque" visuals. In addition, his stories also frequently feature connections to various monsters, unusual worlds, and symbolic creatures. Rowan is a student at Chapman University's "Dodge College of Film and Media Arts" studying film production and has started his own film and TV production company, Mirk Productions, which focuses on bringing fantastical genre films to life.

"Making a film is like raising a child. You cannot raise a child to be liked by everyone. You raise a child to excel, and you teach the child to be true to his own nature. There will be people who'll dislike your child because he or she is who they are, and there will be people who'll love your child immensely for the very same reason." -Guillermo del Toro
"I steal from every single movie ever made. If people don't like that, then tough tills, don't go and see it. All right? I steal from everything. Great artists steal, they don't do homages." -Quentin Tarantino
"...To all the monsters in my nursery: May you never leave me alone." -Guillermo del Toro
