The Roswell Christmas Railway Film Festival is a family friendly, uplifting and inspiring Christmas-themed event featured during the annual holiday event in Roswell, New Mexico. Each night the train takes the tracks to St. Nicholas Station, riders will have the opportunity to delight in the lights of the season, greet Santa, enjoy holiday snacks, experience live entertainment, shop for Christmas and relax while enjoying festive short films. This festival's unique location at the Spring River Park & Zoo is a memory making opportunity for families and a special way to celebrate the season.

Four major awards to be announced prior to the festival: Best Film, Best Comedy, Best Drama, Best Traditional.

GENERAL RULES

By entering your film for consideration, you authorize your work is cleared for festival exhibition and accept full legal responsibility for the intellectual property therein. Entry into the festival constitutes permission to exhibit your work at the Roswell Christmas Railway Film Festival.

Each entry must be accompanied by a completed Entry Form via FilmFreeway, paid Entry Fee and submitted for digital review on FilmFreeway. Foreign language work must be dubbed or subtitled in English.

If selected to be shown at the Roswell Film Festival: Send in your film via digital download.

Film Posters of your film are suggested and will be displayed at the Railway Showing areas. You can send in posters via mail or order local prints for the festival to pickup at Southwest Printers, 575-622-1820.

All films are subject to reviews and rejection. Content acceptability will be established by the Festival. Any content above what constitutes an “Family Friendly” rating will automatically be disqualified. Films must be either Christmas or Holiday subject matter to be considered for showing. AVOID submitting politically motivated/slanderous films. Entry materials will not be returned and will be destroyed or discarded by the Festival. Festival will retain a copy of your film for archive purposes.

All submissions are handled fairly and equally. We encourage you to submit as early as possible. All entries will be viewed by the selection committee. The Festival will make no cuts or changes to your film. All selected entrants will be notified by email through FilmFreeway (be sure to have your email system set to accept email notifications from FilmFreeway to avoid your SPAM/JUNK folder causing you to miss our messages). The Festival reserves the right to make any necessary changes in scheduling. We will not transcode for viewing — only send in MP4 format at 1920x1080p resolution. Festival or Theatre will not be responsible for special projection settings for the showing of your film, it is your responsibility to render your film ready for Theatre showing.

The number of screenings, days and venues is at the sole discretion of the Festival. Films will be continually playing on rotation at the Spirit of Christmas Theatre location.

If selected, send a press kit for use in the festival. Digital Media (i.e. social media items, film synopsis for promotions, digital poster, film trailer links, etc.) can be sent to donovan@donovanfulkerson.com. Mail items (i.e. posters, cards, etc.) can be sent to the below address information. Physical materials will not be returned and must remain available for the duration of the Festival dates. The festival reserves the right in deciding the content released and where it is released. It is recommended to send materials in as quickly as possible for promotional purposes through our networks and to be included in our Official Festival Program, Website, Theater and Social Media outlets.

Roswell Christmas Railway Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening to the public, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.

Entrant shall indemnify and hold harmless the Roswell Christmas Railway Film Festival and any other agents, owners and employees of said entities from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
