Rodney Robinson is a native of Charlotte, NC. After over 30 years of working in various fields such as architecture, security and transportation he decided to pursue his long-time dream of becoming a filmmaker. Believing that ‘it is never too late’, Rodney enrolled in the Asheville School of Film in Asheville, NC in August of 2019. In the process of learning the craft of filmmaking through various seminars, workshops and classes Rodney was afforded an opportunity to write and direct a student short film utilizing the talents of local cast, crew and fellow students. “Magic Camera”, his writing and directorial debut, is the result. Rodney is currently developing story ideas for future short and feature length films. He is also researching subject matter for documentary films. His goal is to collaborate with deeply passionate creatives and write, produce and direct films that engage audiences in entertaining journeys that inform, enrich and inspire. Rodney is committed to the belief that filmmaking can best serve humanity by exploring and exalting the universality of the human experience and spirit.
