Robbie Hutton - Battlefield
How many times have we been here before ?
Another fight another war
Both on the front line, waiting to charge
Two hearts on the guillotine begging both sides to stop.
Tension grown between the thrones
For reasons now unknown
Marching on forward to certain defeat
Two armies already dead on their feet
When the cavalry comes roaring
Will you hear the words I say ?
When the arrows start falling
Will you then forget my name ?
At the dawn when war is over
And the battlefield runs red
Won't you lay down your weapons and bear arms with me instead.
The battlecry throughout the field
Echo's through the hills
Both getting nowhere I'm throwing stones at her fire
You don't tell the truth and I'm such a damn liar
In the end it's all the same
She finishes me with her knife
Her dagger cuts through me like the cold wind at night
Stings that much sharper the thousandth time round
When the cavalry comes roaring
Will you hear the words I say ?
When the arrows start falling
Will you then forget my name ?
At the dawn when war is over
And the battlefield runs red
Won't you lay down your weapons and bear arms with me instead.
It's dying down I'm lying bruised and bloodied on the ground
I wave my white flag and thank god that it's done, the battle is over but the war's just begun
When my ship sets for the ocean
Will you sail along with me ?
When I'm caught up in the storm will you save me when the waves try to pull me in ?
Now the fight has finished
Now we've battered through blood and bone
Let's lay down our weapons and follow the road back home
Let's lay down our weapons and follow the road back home.

Robbie Hutton has been playing in bands since he was 11 years old, but it was only on hearing The View at 16 he realised there was nothing else he wanted to do with his life. Eight years later, the singer/songwriter from Stirling is doing just that, both as a solo performer and with his band.
Taking inspiration from artists as diverse as Jackson Browne, The Script, Vance Joy and Kodaline, as well as a more recent diversion into the country sound of Keith Urban, The Zac Brown Band and Luke Combs, Robbie has crafted a sound that's more than the sum of its parts, it's a sound that's all his own.
With festivals like Party At The Palace, Gig In The Goil, Sruighlea Festival, Fake Festival, EH6 Festival, and slots at the legendary King Tuts and with original inspiration Kyle Falconer and a relentless gigging schedule as a headline artist, Hutton is constantly refining his craft and striving to be the best he can be. One listen to any of his current batch of songs will tell you that the sky's really the limit for what that means.
