Rising Beyond All Odds
A stylized visual collage and musical documentary about a Kemetic/African ancestral tribal community living in the rain forest jungle of Belize. This dramatic short film gives a true visualization of the increasing threat of deforestation in the midst of global warming and climate change as witnessed first-hand by the Kwatamani First Genesis Tribe. A touching call to secure the tropical rain forest jungle of Belize, one of two last remaining rain forests in the western hemisphere.

High Priest Kwatamani spent well over a generation in West Africa. Although his initial trip was to Nigeria during the FESTAC days, his close association with Professer Nketia drew him to the University of Ghana, Lagon where he served as research lecturer in the African Studies Department, during the late 70’s. His holistic pan-African views took him to Liberia and Guinea — where he intensified his close relationship with Kwame Toure aka Stokely Carmichael, Miriam Makeba, and others who admired his holistic approach regarding Africa within a global higher-peace-conscious revolution. The High Priest Kwatamani returned to the Western Hemisphere after he and a surviving family members barely escaping the blood diamond conflict in Sierra Leone. He and his veganic tribal family community finally purchased and re-settled on a 100-acre parcel of land within the tropical rain forest jungle of Belize. The objective was to “rise beyond all odds”.
