Rishikesh International Film Festival weaves the local communities and international guests in a celebration of creativity and cultural arts in Rishikesh, India — the land of ashrams, temples and Ma Ganga.

Awards may be changed to honor films in more specific categories. Extra award categories and cash prizes may be added at Rishikesh International Film Festival's 2023 Film Selection Committee's discretion.

All Official Selections will be listed on our event brochure, website, and Social Media.

Category of films: Feature, Documentary, Short (less than 35 minutes), Animation, Video

Film entries can be submitted online via www.filmfreeway.com or by uploading complete film online in H.264 MoV File, MP4 Format on Google drive, or Vimeo & youtube like platforms and sending us the link (and password if protected), plus Entry Form & Press Kit.

There is no restriction in terms of the film’s production or completion date. Films may have been shown at other film festivals or events. Works in progress are not accepted. All non-English language films must be subtitled in English (except music videos). All films should be without any watermark and advertisement. Filmmakers can send multiple entries with separate submission forms and fees. No submission will be considered complete until the non-refundable entry fee has been paid.

After submitting, check your FilmFreeway account to make sure that your submission meets our requirements and has been accepted for consideration. It is your responsibility to make sure all requirements are met and necessary information is given. You’ll receive a confirmation email that we’ve received your submission, as well as any potential notifications of further information we need from you.

Locations and dates of screenings will be determined upon final selection of films.

Tejasvi Festival and In The Light Festival, in association with Rishikesh International Film Festival, will be screening selected films in various international locations in 2023-2024. If your film is chosen for any part of the tour, we will notify you as to the location and date of screening.

DCP+Bluray or Bluray+.MOV file must be delivered to Rishikesh International Film Festival within 14 days from notification of acceptance.

OFFICIAL SELECTION films may use Rishikesh International Film Festival laurels on their posters and other media. The laurel will be available on the website after the first selection is published.

RIGHTS & DISCLAIMERS

By entering your film for consideration for the 2023 Rishikesh International Film Festival, you authorize that your work is cleared for festival exhibition and accept full legal responsibility for the intellectual property therein; and you shall indemnify and hold harmless the Rishikesh International Film Festival, including our officers, affiliates, employees, and partners, from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered. Once the film is submitted it can not be withdrawn under any circumstances.

The Rishikesh International Film Festival Selection Committee’s decision will be final, and can not be contested for any reason. The Rishikesh International Film Festival may opt to withdraw your work from the festival at any time and for any reason. The Rishikesh International Film Festival does not pay screening fees. By submitting your film via FilmFreeway you acknowledge that the festival will not pay to present your work. Filmmaker assumes the cost of shipping the film and any additional promo materials to the festival. No materials will be returned.

Rishikesh International Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize all submitted promotional materials, film excerpts, including film trailers, from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. All filmmakers understand and accept that if their film is accepted for presentation and screening at Rishikesh International Film Festival, they grant full and unrestricted permission for Rishikesh International Film Festival to screen the film at times of the festival committee’s choice and to charge an admission fee for the presentation of the film. The filmmaker understands and accepts that they do not participate in receiving any funds from the box office proceeds which are fully retained by the festival to help cover the overall cost of the festival presentation.

    I felt like I was in a dream accepting my award at the ceremony right on the Ganges River! This was an amazing honor to win the best music video for our film Baca the River. RAFF is filled with heart and talented people all striving to bring inspiring film and art to light Congratulations to Deja Cross and her vision to make such a film festival a success with her amazing team .Congratulations to all the great films as specially Monk with a Camera and Yogananda Awake.
