Director Statement

In 2013, my 12-year-old self was inspired to venture into the world of live action filmmaking for the first time. The result of this inspiration was a zombie film called "Rise of the Dead." As one might imagine, it wasn't very good. But my friends and I had the time of our lives making it and were determined to tell an ambitious story that spanned across multiple sequels. A number of creative shakeups and teenage drama delayed this incredibly ambitious venture after Rise of the Dead 2 launched in late 2013, but a third installment was released in 2019. With two years of studying to be a filmmaker at Boston University under my belt, I decided to tell one final Rise of the Dead story that would be both a compelling standalone story that also honors and concludes a story eight years in the making.
