Director Biography - Haroon Habib

Filmmaker Biography:
Haroon Habib is an Independent filmmaker and Educator. He has started his film career in 2002 since he has been working as a Director, Screenwriter and Cinematographer. He has written & Directed many shorts films, Documentaries and Theater Plays in his career. After his Post Graduation from National College of Arts, he went United State in 2013 and participated in film making workshops at Oklahoma University. He had been selected for the Berlinale talents in 2017 where he got the opportunity to work with the film professional from other parts of the world.
Filmography:
His films have been awarded in international festivals and distributed worldwide. His acclaimed films "Land of the Fireflies" & "River in the Desert" participated in many Film Festivals around the world including "17th international children film festival India, RIFFA, Singapore South Asian International Film Festival, IFFSA - Toronto and Jaipur International Film Festival". Another short film “Shehnai” screened at Zanzibar international film festival. Short Film Music Box Nominated at CMS, INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S FILM FESTIVAL India. last year he directed a documentary film Riding Kibo for this he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro “Tanzania “which was the most Adventures film shoot of his career.

Director Statement

for shooting Riding Kibo we traveled all the way to Tanzania. it was a five-day climbing to the peak. it was a lifetime experience for a young girl who wanted to break the barriers to keep the wheel moving, faced extreme weather conditions and many difficult situations and reached on the top of the mount Kilimanjaro on her bicycle.
