    I lost both parents tragically & suddenly to cancer by the time I was 12 years old. I was an orphan along with my siblings. However, they taught us to read, write, stay in school, stay out of trouble, work hard and contribute to society. I want this message to resonate with young people around the world. -Richard J.     Richard J. McCollough, M.Ed. is an award winning producer, director, videographer and veteran broadcaster with 40 years of experience. He has worked at NBC, ABC, CBS and PBS affiliates in Washington, DC, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Cincinnati, Spartanburg, SC and Rochester, NY. Mr. McCollough is President and founder of Mirusmedia, a production company and American Abilities Television Network. American Abilities is programming for people with hearing loss seen on CW-WHAM Rochester channel 16. He is also Chief Meteorologist at top rated WDKX-FM 1039, where he has been for over 20 years. Mr. McCollough is President Emeritus of the Rochester Association of Black Journalists, a member of the National Press Photographers Association, the Society of Professional Journalists and has been awarded the AMS Seal of Approval.
