A pretty college girl once sat near me in a restaurant. I imagined an elaborate backstory and brutal death for her at the hands of Jason Voorhees. Then I thought maybe I could monetize that by writing a script. So I did.

I credit my love of horror to my mother, Gilbert Gottfried, and Rhonda Shear. My mother's love of Stephen King led to Misery being the first R-rated movie I saw in the theater at the age of 8. I can still remember her telling me afterward that the cop wasn't killed with a shotgun in the book, but by being run over with a lawnmower.
Gilbert and Rhonda hosted USA's Up All Night, where I was introduced to Jason, Freddy, Michael, and a slew of other slashers, which I always preferred over the sex comedies they also aired.

My first serious attempt at writing was in high school, when after being frustrated by the lack of progress on the announced Resident Evil movie, my friend and I decided to write our own. I still say the result is better than any live action film that was actually made.
I've also written the comic novel Your Princess is in Another Castle, which is available for purchase on Amazon Kindle for less than a dollar. The novel is about a geek's quest for a PlayStation 3 and true love, although not necessarily in that order.
My first completed screenplay as an adult was a legacy sequel to Friday the 13th Part 2 which was inspired by 2018's Halloween and the still ongoing absence of a new Friday film. My script would become the first of a four part Friday the 13th series.
I went on to write an A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot trilogy and a Halloween trilogy that follows the original film. After writing for the big three, I began working on an original series.
When I'm not writing, I attend comic and horror cons throughout the Midwest, cosplaying primarily as Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger.
