Richard currently lives in Birmingham, originally from a small village Baxterley. He studied Film Studies and Performing arts at King Edward VI college in Nuneaton Warwickshire before talking on an apprenticeship in IT.
Growing up he always had a love of films, especially Sci-fi. Some of his favourite films include Aliens, Terminator 2, and the original Star wars Trilogy.
In 2022 he decided to make another attempt at filmmaking and attended Metfilm school to study Practical filmmaking. Along with his studies he Wrote, Directed and Produced his first short film "Conversion". Throughout 2023/2024 Conversion screened at several film festivals. The film won the award for best Sci-Fi at RS Filmfest and Best Sci-fi Director at the London Director awards.
After a successful festival run with Conversion, Richard challenged himself to work on a short thriller film "Remote Witness". After a long Post-production process the film is finally being submitted to both national and international film festivals.
In 2024 he created the 60 Second Cinema filmmaking competition which is ran through the Producers Forum. The competition aims to encourage collaboration between filmmakers from the midlands and showcase their talents in one place.
