Revival of Hecate
A witch summons the spirit of Hecate to guide us through a poem of dominance, power, and sex. Imagery and poetic symbolism carry you through the nuances of a radical religion. In this examination of a broken belief system two evangelical preachers are caught up in their internal conflicts. Horace the head pastor, and Randy the docile assistant, sacrifice and cage each other at every moment leading up to a bloody revival.

Mark Meyers is an accountant and filmmaker based in rural Missouri, just outside of Kansas City, where he lives with his family and dog. Raised in a small town, he was homeschooled and spent much of his early life immersed in the church.
With over a decade of experience in producing content, Mark has contributed to numerous projects, including The Devil Came Up from Texas, Sixlet, and Three Eras. While his work behind the scenes has shaped many stories, this marks his directorial debut—a deeply personal exploration of faith, power, and the human condition.
This project is deeply personal—a haunting reflection on my upbringing within the church and the isolated world of homeschooling. Set against the backdrop of a tent revival, the story explores the unsettling dynamics of faith, power, and manipulation. With its vibrant, visceral visuals, the film captures a world that is both seductive and horrifying, leading to a violent crescendo of destruction.
At its heart, this film is a critique of how belief systems can become tools of control, while also serving as an exploration of the darker corners of human nature. By blending religious symbolism with elements of horror, I aim to create an experience that is both thought-provoking and deeply unsettling, inviting viewers to confront the unspoken tensions between faith, power, and humanity’s more primal instincts.
