Will Prescott is an award-winning filmmaker who directs corporate, commercial, and documentary work in Minneapolis. He began his career in Los Angeles with PBS member station, KCET, and working with SAGindie to promote low budget contracts. He made his directorial debut with the feature dark comedy, FEEDING MR. BALDWIN, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Minnesota Film and TV. He has one small dog (Charlie) and one big dog (Pico).
I was born and raised outside of Anchorage, Alaska near a small town called Eagle River. Back in the ‘80s and ‘90s there was a roller skating rink called Skate Place. My short film, REUBEN THE ROLLER ROO, is loosely based on my memories of that shady roller rink. Yes, the short is a fictional, dark comedy not rooted in anything factual. But the spirit of the place-- the smells, the carpeted floors, the weird characters-- very much are. This all goes without saying that my latest film is extremely personal to me, as are my years in Alaska before moving to the lower 48. I can’t think of anything more meaningful than having the opportunity to share this project with audiences, and hopefully one day the feature version that it's based on.
