Return

"Regresso" or Return is a stop-motion made with the scanography technique. The entire animation was created frame by frame, blending collage, drawing, painting, sculpting, movement and light directly on a CanoScan Lide 400 scanner.

This artwork was specifically designed to bring to life "Regresso," my favorite song from Bernardo Melo's EP, "Quem me retira os problemas da saudade. The animation guides us through the creative process of the pianist, offering us an intimate glimpse into his introspective journey while composing this EP. It starts from the confines of his cubic and monotonous room, rooted in the daily grind of reality to the open portal of music which absorbs us to a new dimension of possibilities. There, abstract forms reign and color, sensations and feelings come first.
