Cor Taylor (they/she/he) is a filmmaker and writer from DeLand, Florida. A natural creative with a long history in other arts such as choir and dance, they strongly believe that everyone has a story worth telling. Through exploring multiple areas of film, Cor rediscovered their true passion for creative writing while also harnessing new skills in camerawork and post-production. They have created numerous student short films as well as written the first draft of the feature film “Flames in the Night”.
I was in 2nd grade when I first heard my elementary school choir perform on stage. I was instantly captivated and little me would practice “A Whole New World” from Disney’s Aladdin every single day to prepare for the day that I finally joined them. Ever since, music has been an integral part of my life and 2023 marks my 11th year of choral singing. Every song that I’ve sung—English, French, Hebrew, or Swahili—has played a part in shaping who I am today.
My senior thesis film, Requiem, is a love letter to both the many brilliant music instructors I’ve worked under over the past decade as well as the countless talented singers who became my found family. For all of time, music will continue to grant a voice to the voiceless and be the language that unites us all.
