In this IUGSreport, Daniel MAKASI, from Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo, talks about the Nyiragongo volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. In his region, the volcano surprised everyone by erupting in 2021.

Some experts at the Goma Volcanological Observatory GVO were on strike. This considerably reduced the quality of their work observing the Nyiragongo volcano.
