Remora: A Modern Folktale (with subtitles)

Cassie Ahiers is a director, writer, and comedian from Minnesota. After completing a degree in theatre directing from Columbia College Chicago, she became active in the city’s comedy community. She directed four web series, dozens of sketch shows, toured as an improviser, wrote an original musical, and ran a DIY comedy club in her apartment’s laundry room. Eventually she began working for The Second City where she directed the National Touring Company, devised and directed the theatre’s youth and teen show, and taught students from ages 4 to 80.

In 2019 she moved to Los Angeles to work in television and see the sun again. She is currently the acting coach on the Nickelodeon sitcom Side Hustle.

Cassie directs work that is often silly and absurd with underlying social or political themes. Her family nickname is “Walleye Queen,” which is a fishing joke, in case you had doubts about just how midwestern she is.
