Sahil Hameed is a writer by passion, an editor by profession and a filmmaker by ambition.
As a viewer, I find cinema at its best when it tells a story of human emotions. And that is what we set out to do for this film, “Remembrance” at its core deals with the story of two estranged brothers who come to the realization that at the end it is always the little things that matters the most.
I wanted to make a film that would take the viewers on a ride of emotions and I really couldn't have picked a better crew to make this film with. I worked closely with the cinematographers to design a minimalist aesthetic visual; we wanted to unfold the narrative in such a way that drew the audience into the story. The actors really went out of their own way to bring life to these characters and the music that was composed by Dale Nichols complements the visual imagery to such an extent that the viewer cannot help but be completely immersed in the story.
This is a film that was made for the 48 Hour Film Project and so it was conceptualized, filmed, edited and packaged in just 48 hours. We wrapped up shooting in less than 14 hours and I personally edited on the go. To be honest, we were under a lot of pressure to finish this film within 48 hours, but in the end it is this very pressure that pushed us to perform even better than we could’ve thought possible. “Remembrance” was created with because of the tireless commitment of my crew, it’s their talents and professionalism that made this film possible, they own this film and I am immensely grateful to them.
