Remember This Place
An environmental horror of our collective grief.
A woman follows the paper trail left by her late mother to help a tenacious journalist expose a history of fraud and environmental damage. While reluctant to help at first, the woman is soon faced with her family's past that she can no longer ignore. She will have to face the challenges of confronting her grief head-on and standing up to industry titans.
This fictional narrative dramatizes world-renowned climate scientist and author, Dr. Phyllis Lambert's journey after stepping away from the spotlight. The decision to retire into isolation comes after her former colleague, Dr. Marie Sol passes away amidst discovering that the company they were both working for, the National Petroleum & Energy Company (NAPENCO), has been falsifying data in order to continue their dishonest work. Years later, a journalist, Claire Dimas, is assigned to write an article that exposes the truth behind NAPENCO's greenwashing campaigns and falsified data. In order to hear the events that took place within the company, she must contact Dr. Marie Sol's daughter, Isabel Sol. Now at the center of this investigative mission, Isabel is determined to finally face her grief surrounding her mother's death.
The climate crisis is at the center of this film and the narrative is inspired by real life climate events that continue to take place across the globe. The stories of pollution and corporate cover-ups told in this film are based on true events that have taken place since the late 1970's. Presenting these stories in this fictional narrative sets the stage for the meaningful dialogue and leader-focused communities that we need for the climate of our future and a chance at healing solutions.
