Relocated
We have filmed documentary Relocated short after the invasion of Russia to Ukraine has started. Our film is a real based story about saving a farm from occupied territory of the Kharkiv region. The goal of film is not just to show the rescue of the goat farm but also to show the unity and kindness of the people during the hard time. Strangers volunteered having call on duty agreed to look after farming business and take care of the animals. While some are savagely destroying what has been nurtured for years and generations, others are trying to revitalize the ruined, restoring Ukraine's historical heritage and bringing life back where it once was even during the war.
Main character of the film is restorationist from Poltava - Mykhailo and his heroic story of rescuing goats. Thanks to its history, we got to know the local people and the estate where the farm is now. Previously, this estate was called " Vidradny " property of the Sklifosovsky family, and they say it was called “Poltava’s Switzerland”.
We discovered an interesting cycle of epochal tragedies. More than a hundred years ago, Mykola Sklifosovsky, a famous surgeon, lived and worked on this land in the small town of Yakivtsi, Poltava. The doctor and his family were very well known and deeply respected among the people. He gained recognition not only for his contribution to fundamental surgery, but also for the fact that Mykola Vasiliovych never refused treatment to anyone and did it for free, especially for residents of his town.
Mykhailo also plans to restore the dilapidated building of Sklifosovsky's former laboratory and set up a cheese workshop there, which will be open for tourists. In fact, he also saved the building, which was half-dismantled by vandals and deteriorated over the years. But most important was his heroic deed of rescuing the farmer's property from the territories that were caught under the shelling from the "liberators". Mykhailo has a lot to tell about this place and how important it is for him to preserve the historical heritage, giving it a new life. On top of that, he has unparalleled expertise in revitalization of historical monuments that are on the verge of disappearing.
