Director Biography - Lucía Benavente

Lucía Benavente begins in audiovisual production as a screenwriter, director and producer. Make fiction short films, video art and essays. She also made audiovisual works for artists such as Leila Tschopp and Paola Bilancieri. She won the grant for Audiovisual projects from the National Endowment for the Arts in relation to the Municipal Fund of Morón (2018) with the Confines project. Hallarse, a video dance focused on an experimental search for image, movement and sound, was selected in the George Méliés Short Film Competition and screened within the framework of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival (2019), as well as in the FAUNA Arts Festival (2019). Her latest short films, Other Beaches, essay on filming and youth, and Relapso, fiction on loneliness and waiting, were included in the Official Selection of Best of Latin America Short Film Festival (2020).
