Hurricane Matthew was a destructive category 5 hurricane that wrought widespread destruction along the East Coast in the beginning of October 2016. It was the deadliest Atlantic hurricane since Hurricane Stan in 2005.
We take a look into the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew in Savannah, Georgia and the surrounding areas.
Through all the catastrophe and damage, many people stepped up and pulled together for the greater good. Sometimes it takes a storm like Hurricane Matthew to shake things up and shine light on the good will that always prevails from human nature.
If nothing else, Matthew can teach us how to better prepare for similar situations in the future. It can teach us how tight-nit our communities really are, and how we can grow from it together.
