Director Biography - Jocelyn Harp

The 21 years old French filmmaker, Jocelyn Harp was born in Lyon, and has been passionate about cinema and storytelling, creating his own short films, since the age of 10. It is during a difficult period, while being a teenager, that his fascination for films reached a peak, motivating him to learn the filmmaking process as well as English and Chinese. As soon as he could, he started to direct his own short films and put them into festivals, in France, and internationally.
In 2018, Jocelyn’s short film « Lilly's Wait » was selected, then winner of the prestigious Gold Remi Award at the 51st international film festival WorldFest Houston, in the student short film category. Winners of this award include Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, George Lucas, the Cohen brothers… Jocelyn is one of the youngest filmmakers to ever win the Gold (at the age of 19).
After finally obtaining his specialized Scientific High School Diploma, he left France for a year, moving to Shanghai, where he could write and direct the short film “Reflective Blue” as his first international project, produced in China, with a Chinese crew, and shot in English with American actors.

It is a bluish miniverse with unique properties, with its own temporality, its own laws, and its own mysteries ...
