Director Statement

Edo Ansaloni, reporter of the tragic events of the war period in the Bologna territory, crossed this "short century" driven by a family DNA accustomed to adventure, eclecticism and entrepreneurial mastery, but also to civil duty. Like his father, he could not help but be a deontological interpreter of his time, setting himself the goal of narrating, preserving, maintaining and disseminating the historical memory of his city, beyond all political fences and divisions in order "to recompose and build bridges”. A documentary on his life represents a rightful tribute to an enlightened man, loved and held in high esteem by those who had the privilege to share his dreams and actions and to whom the community and institutions owe their gratitude. The "Memorial Museum of Liberty", result of the exclusive efforts of Edo and his family, should be preserved and relaunched to maintain unaltered its great educational and popular value, fundamental for enhancing awareness in the new generations. On a panel, placed at the entrance of the museum, Edo appears smiling and welcomes the visitor with an autographed phrase that reveals the human depth of his character: “ My thoughts go to all those who have given their life or have suffered for freedom ” Edo Ansaloni.
