Olivia is an American writer-director who was born and raised in Northern California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her films are sensitive yet unsentimental examinations into human frailties and how we connect with one another. She’s interested in stories about identity and belonging—because as someone who is half-Chinese and half-White, it’s something she’s still looking for herself.
Olivia earned her BFA in Film & TV from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, with a minor in the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology in 2021. She is currently in her final year at the prestigious National Film and Television School in the UK where she is working towards an MA in Directing Fiction. RED EGG & GINGER is her graduation film. Olivia’s previous short film work has screened at Academy Award and BAFTA qualifying festivals in the UK and across the US.
