Recently named one of FilmFreeway's Top 100 Film Festivals out of the nearly 9,000 worldwide, The Red Dirt International Film Festival is where film goes to have fun. We love movies and a good time. We are pleased to showcase films and screenplays* of many genres. During its 3-day run March 29-31 2018, we will kick-off our 5th season by featuring a very diverse-selection of films as we equally love a good comedy, horror film, drama, or documentary. We encourage submissions from directors who will be able to attend the entire festival as we love to meet and network; forming friendships with fellow filmmakers and learning from each other is a key part of our festival!

Red Dirt was formed to bring more inspiration, culture, and entertainment to central Oklahoma, as well as to enliven people of all ages through the united power of the film medium. In addition to films we have parties each evening, workshops, panels, Q&A's, live music, networking events and whatever else our creative minds create year-to-year!

The fest is held in the student union on the Oklahoma State University campus in Stillwater, Oklahoma. It is the largest student union in the world and we are thrilled to have use of the theater there! Campus is gorgeous and has restaurants and the Atherton Hotel (our host hotel) connected to the student union so you can walk right from your hotel to the theater!

Stillwater is the launchpad for a number of other amazing things such as the world-famous Eskimo Joe's restaurant, musicians such as The All-American Rejects, Garth Brooks, Red Dirt Music; Oklahoma State University, and actors such as James Marsden, and Gary Busey.

We thank YOU for your submissions and look forward to having you as part of our festival!

Red Dirt was a really fun festival. A great mix of novice and amateur filmmakers. Everyone was really nice and polite. We were very happy to attend and have our film shown.

A wonderful weekend of films and conversation with other film makers. The location offered a lot of space to chat with both film goers and other producers about their work. Excellent after parties, and the staff was friendly throughout. Enjoyed my time in Oklahoma.

My experience with the Red Dirt Film Fest, as a screenplay finalist could not have been better! The organizers were super nice and a class act from start to finish. I attended all four days of the festival, including a VIP party, watched a lot of fab films, and networked with a lot of amazing filmmakers, actors, and screenwriters from all over. The notes I received on my script were a great value, very thorough and helpful. I was awarded an Ink Tip listing, which was promptly provided. Thanks, RDFF!

This is certainly the friendliest festival out there! No better communication from the very start of any festival out there! We received our acceptance via a personal video from Marisa and Damon. They both pay so much attention to detail and to all the attendees. They are accessible anytime. Very well attended and you can't beat the venue. Panels, industry professionals, lots of networking and activities scheduled to make this a truly fun, special and educational film festival. It's a "must" attend!

Thank you, Red Dirt! I really had fun. The program directors and their team are super cool people. They assembled a really strong slate of films with a good turnout of filmmakers which always makes for a good time. They organized some fun social events in the evenings. Like many younger festivals they are still struggling with attendance from the community but they make up for it with great hospitality and sincere goodwill.
