Reclaiming Space for affordable and inclusive living

There should be housing projects like "Unfug" everywhere, because they enrich the city and society. By resisting the odds and confronting housing norms, the members of "Unfug" are reclaiming space for their vision of affordable, sustainable and inclusive living for all. Leftist free spaces feel pressure all over, while there is an enormous competition in the housing market, people are homeless and rent prices still rise. The film tells about the ideas and the development of the leftist housing project "Unfug" and lets viewers know about what matters to the housemates and activists for living in solidarity. In 2020, the city government prohibited living in the trailers on the property of the project. Why? Different players from politics and civil society share their perspective on the conflict between city and housing project. The Film cannot predict the future of "Unfug". But it wants to pose the questions: How do we want to live? How can we imagine alternatives to the problematic status quo? Who owns the city?
