Emerging screenwriter Rebecca Potters just graduated Cum Laude from Elon University with a BFA in Cinema and Television Arts this May and plans to move to sunny Los Angeles this autumn. Potters has a variety of experiences under her belt, from interning for the development department of a Los Angeles based production company to working as Development Coordinator for her university's student-run production company to writing & performing stand up in her college town.
Potters has always known she wanted to be a writer. Her first comedic short script she ever wrote, a quirky rom-com she wrote at 17 titled "Practice", was screened at the student section of the 2020 Garden State Film Festival. She now writes for all genres, with comedy and horror being her soft spot. Her thesis film, a psychological horror titled "The Loop", premiered on May 11th at the Elon University School of Communications BFA Showcase.
Potters takes pride in her youthful voice and unique outlook on the world. She's been fantasizing about stories she'd tell one day since she was a child, and now that she has put in the time and effort into polishing her writing skills, there's no going back. Every story that Rebecca Potters tells is, to some degree, a genuine and unapologetic extension of herself. Potters defines herself as someone who is energetic, passionate, loud, proud, and ready to share the lens she sees the world through with others.
