Penny Wise was born in the nation’s capital and raised in one of the roughest housing developments in the city where he was exposed to the gritty underworld streets. One of nine children, his mother did the best she could for the family until she was brutally murdered. Eleven year old Reggie moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where his troubled life seemed to follow him. In and out of homes and facilities, including foster care, he was forced to survive the only way he knew. Eventually he ended up homeless and was raised on the streets. He is now a small owner and a proud father of a four year old boy whom he loves dearly. This pilot is based on his 2020 novel, Raw Ice.
Drew Samuelsen works with ELL and at-risk students as an English teacher. Prior to college he served four years in the U.S. Marines.
