Rattled
Mohammed's traditional search for a bride has resulted in over twelve rejections. As his opportunities seem to be disappearing, Mohammed finds hope in wearing his late father's lucky ring to his next "meeting". Much to his surprise, he finds himself with Laila, a bride he failed to impress before.

Jaafar Almadhoon is a Bahraini filmmaker based in Dubai, UAE. He graduated from the American University in Dubai majoring in Digital Production and Storytelling. He works in CNN Arabic as a Video Producer. He directed several short films that have been screened in different Film Festivals in the UAE and Bahrain. Jaafar continues to write stories, hoping to make them into films and shows one day.
Rattled is inspired by experiences that a lot of young Bahraini men and women go through. They live these strange experiences, without really thinking about how funny they are. It’s a strange process that you would find funny more than effective. And what’s stranger is how effective it actually is.
During “The Meeting”, where a young man meets a potential bride-to-be, usually after a long search process by both of their families, and which can be 5 minutes or 60, a lot of strange things happen. However, they only end up as conversations between people. So what if these funny experiences were told in a short film? That’s when the idea for Rattle was born.
The film tells the story of “The Meeting” between Mohammed and Laila, and tries to deliver it in the style of Wes Anderson and Edgar Wright’s films, where comedy comes from the situation and visuals.
