Director Biography - Nadia Louis-Desmarchais

Nadia Louis-Desmarchais, a female director, is currently a student in Filmmaking at the Université du Québec à Montréal. She has been influenced by the work of many directors such as Spike Lee, and she always tries to give a voice to those who are never shown on screen.

Passionated about sexuality and identity, Nadia's recent film, Rated x, has been shot in Prague with the famous porn actresses Luna Corazon and Goth Charlotte.

Director Statement

Being a woman, being black and being a filmmaker, that's what gives me the impluse to give a voice to those who are constantly being told to lay low and to be silent about their conditions. By giving a voice, through my films, to the women, to the racised amazing people and to the sex workers, I hope I am educating someone out there.
