Rasul’s Vision: Saving the Caspian Sea and Building a Sustainable Future
Meet Rasul, an 18-year-old living near the shores of the Caspian Sea, just outside Baku, Azerbaijan. Passionate about biking, gardening, and collaborating on projects with his friends, Rasul is determined to tackle one of the biggest challenges facing his community: climate change.
The Caspian Sea is shrinking at an alarming rate due to rising temperatures and overuse of water, threatening local ecosystems and livelihoods. Inspired by this crisis, Rasul and his friends launched the ‘Drop by Drop’ project, a system that captures and reuses water from air conditioners.
Rasul dreams of becoming a climate scientist, helping communities adapt to a changing world, and building a future where sustainability is at the forefront. But the challenges are daunting: water scarcity, heatwaves, and the prospect of becoming climate refugees weigh heavily on his mind.
In his vision for the future, Baku thrives as a green city powered by renewable energy, where community-led initiatives like ‘Drop by Drop’ inspire sustainable living. Rasul’s story is a call to action for leaders worldwide to make bold decisions, transition to clean energy, and secure a livable planet for future generations.
Join Rasul in imagining a better future—and working to make it a reality.
