Raquel Vaught is a 16-year-old from Louisville Kentucky with a passion for film! Growing up Raquel always loved film and anytime she watched something new, she’d want to be whatever or whoever she saw on screen. Then whatever she watched would become her entire personality for about the next few months. She always loved content creation, writing, and storytelling as she grew up making small YouTube videos for herself and her family! She would even memorize her favorite commercials and scenes and perform them for her family! Raquel realized she wanted to pursue acting when Covid hit and she started getting into Anime. Now, should she have realized sooner considering how many scenes she had created to act out alone in the bathroom… yes: yes she should have, but let's not dwell on the past too much. It started when she was 11 with Voice Acting classes but then Raquel realized she didn't want to stop there. Raquel realized that everything she’s ever wanted to be she saw on a screen, a marine biologist, a wizard, Spiderman. As she grew up she started recognizing the impact film can have on people and how stories can change the way people think and can even help them through a tough time, as they had helped her through tough times too. Raquel started taking acting classes and never went back. Her acting coach John D’Aquino started something called the Zoom Movie Challenge and Raquel wanted to participate! So she got together with her friend Kate Hebner from her acting class and started brainstorming. Now she's making her short film debut! At the age of 15 Raquel made Beyond the Book, her first short film she wrote, directed, edited, produced, and starred in! She continues to take acting classes and is writing more films!
