Rap Mundi
Rap Mundi is a vocal experimentation on the sound of languages.
Zanko El Arabe Blanco is one of the pioneers in Italy of multilingual rap and the Human Beatbox.
He speaks 5 languages fluently, first in Italy to use Arabic in his texts, he often uses French, English, Spanish and even the Milanese dialect.
Great lover of world cultures, every country he visits, comes into contact with local music. This has led to many interesting self-taught discoveries about rap and hip hop culture.
Here are 5 of them
1: Every language has a sound and a flow.
Some languages have similar sounds even if they have nothing to do with one another.
Example: Finnish, Japanese and Italian are languages with many vowels and soft sounds.
2: languages with more musical flows, usually have fewer rhyming couplets, more assonances and have fewer vowels.
3: Beatboxing is like learning a new language: you have to learn how to reproduce a phoneme. Speaking a new language is like learning to beatbox: you have to familiarize yourself with and reproduce sounds.
4: Listening to rap can be enjoyable whether you understand it or not. The important thing is not necessarily a message, but the fact that something in the text, which can be the message, the Flow, the punchlines, the lyrics or the metric, excites you.
We can also get excited about Kazakhi rap, for example.
5: Hip hop is a universal language. In any metropolis of the world you go, if you connect with the local hip hop scene, you don't understand each other but you do, because you speak the same language and come from the same culture.
Rap Mundi is a tribute to the universal language of hip hop.
