Swapna Kurup is a UAE based filmmaker and video artist. Her previous works include fictional shorts and video installations commissioned by Dubai Culture. Driven by father’s struggle with Parkinson’s Disease, Indian classical dancer Vonita Singh, volunteered to help people in the UAE affected by this debilitating disease. What struck me most about Vonita’s endeavour was how her art form had become an intervention tool in aiding people with Parkinson’s.
