Nicki Harris is a horror film Director and Screenwriter who grew up in upstate NY and has lived in San Francisco for the last two decades.
I started writing horror stories as a little girl growing up in the 1980s and eventually having a recess following where I would read a new story every other day to wide eyed kids. I was inspired by both super awesome films like Poltergeist and campy twisted films like The Fly. I couldn't wait to make my own and made my first horror short in High School, shocking myself (and my parents) when I won first place at the Rod Serling Film Festival while still in High School. This made it "OK" for me to study film as opposed to what everyone hoped I would do (become an English Teacher) and I am so glad I was able to do so. Now I write and direct my own work and I find exceptional talent to help me succeed. I have found super talented fellow women in horror film like Chloe Smolkin (DP) Chelsea Paige and Beatrice Sniper (Horror Makeup and FX) and I hope you love the films we make. We are so very proud of HoneyBee (2016) my first feature, and now SO SO proud of Ramona, which is so special to me and I have waited 4 years to make as it the beginning of a full script I hope to get made very soon. All the blood (literal and figurative) sweat and many, many tears feel like they are paying off indeed.
