Kari Barber is a journalist-turned-filmmaker residing in Reno, Nevada. Her first feature-length documentary and most recent film, "Struggle & Hope," aired on the public television series America ReFramed in 2019. It's festival world premiere was at the Cannes Pan African Film Festival in France. Through her films Barber encourages audiences to examine history and society through a new lens. Her new short documentary, "Rainshadow," follows how a "failing" high school is changing and even saving lives.
