Johannes Pico (Born in 1983) is a director, writer and editor-in-chief.
Pico is educated from the danish production company Zentropa and has more than 15 years of experience with fiction and television production such as 1 day, 2 teams, 3 animals which is aired on TV2.
Most recently Pico directed Grænseland for Danish Broadcast (2019), The Smallest Kingdom in the World and several seasons of Motor Mille for DR Ramasjang (2015-2017). He was assistant director on En Frygtelig Kvinde and 2nd unit director on DR's TV-series Borgen (2010-2011), Herrens veje (2018) and
the Danish thriller Skytten (2015)
There are over 20.000 donor children in Denmark. Many of them are approaching adulthood and they want to know about their origin. Who am I? Who could I possibly have become if I had grown up in a different family instead of the one I grew up in?
Those are big questions that require answers. RAINBOW, to me, is about identity and how difficult it is to feel "whole" when there is a missing piece. Something you don’t know about or can’t find. With this series I want to show that there is no correct way of living as a family. Today we have a more rich and more diverse landscape of different and marvelous compositions of families. And that family is what we make it.
The series premiered during the World Pride which was held this year in Copenhagen, Denmark.
