Director Biography - Cameron Zayec

Cameron Zayec's debut film as writer director, Rainbow is a personal exploration of darkness and of finding the light.

As a commercial cinematographer of more than ten years, he has shot; feature films, TV, commercials, music videos, documentaries all over the world and has developed an extensive visual language that served him well when directing RAINBOW.

With a background as an actor before that, Cameron cherishes working with the cast and speaks their language.

Directing Rainbow was such a joy, that Cameron has now moved towards directing as a career, with multiple projects already in post production.

Director Statement

This film was inspired by a dear friend of mine who, at a young age, was irresponsibly forced into a life of drugs by a loved one.

My own first experience with drugs was a psychotic episode that scarred me deeply.
I feel blessed to have had such a traumatic experience that I never went back.
Others are not so lucky.

This is what I want people to take away from the film.

Regardless of the struggles we face or the prison we find ourselves in, we have the ability to experience joy, but we must choose to do so.

Sometimes, we just need help to see the rainbow.
