Born in Nicoya, Costa Rica, Sofia Pastora Quijada began her professional journey as an artist at the University of Costa Rica in 2018, majoring in fine arts. Subsequently, she began her degree in Digital Animation at LCI Veritas University, where she was part of a variety of audiovisual projects, as director of storyboard and script writer for the short film Take a Breather (2022), and as an animator, concept artist, and storyboard director for the documentary Culture of artisanal fishing and businesswomen (2022) from the Ministry of Culture and Youth. She completed her degree in Digital Animation with her graduation project titled RabbitHole (2024), a film about the psychology of guilt, liminal spaces, and psychological terror.
