About RRIFF:
Rolling Reels International Film Festival (RRIFF) is a non-profit, student-run organization established in 2015. Presented by Festember, the biggest cultural festival of South-India, RRIFF is a venture aimed at establishing a platform for young filmmakers to interact and learn from the veterans in this field.
Event Structure:
The participants would be given a time period of about 2 months to send in their entries after which the international and Indian short films would be filtered first by a preliminary panel of judges under separate categories. The shortlisted movies are then screened on the day of the Festival which are judged by an A-list jury comprising of maestros of the film industry. Aside from the event, RRIFF also hosts extravagant workshops and a panel discussion on a topic that concerns the industry.
Our Past:
RRIFF is proud to have previously hosted talks by notable figures such as R Velraj, Praveen Anthony, Sreekar Prasad, Vignesh Shivan, Ravi K Chandran, Santosh Sivan, Pratap Pothen, Mohan Raja, Linguswamy and many other pioneers of the film industry. The previous edition of RRIFF was proud to have esteemed personalities like Mr. Tom Moore, Mr. Ravi. K Chandran, Late Mr. KV Anand, Mr. Anthony Gonsalvez and much more in the judging panel. RRIFF’20 had it’s first international edition, where a separate category for international films was started. We also had an online interactive session with esteemed actress Mrs. Nikki Galrani. RRFF’19 also witnessed an editing workshop conducted by K. L. Praveen. RRFF’18 boasts of an association with Gautam Vasudev Menon’s Ondraga Entertainment. In the 2016 edition of RRIFF, we had the pleasure of hosting Mr Ramalingam, the art director of the movie Kabali to conduct a workshop. We have also been associated with films like Chennai to Singapore in Festember’16 and Thoongavanam in Festember’15.
