Director Statement

"Robbery" is a dark comedy heist film that explores the unexpected connections formed amidst chaos and desperation. At its core, "Robbery" is a film about human relationships and the complexities of morality. Through the lens of a heist gone wrong, we explore themes of love, desperation, and redemption. PSYCHE, trapped in a dull life, finds comfort and companionship in her online friendship with ROBER, a young man who navigates the world without sight but with unwavering optimism. Their collaboration to commit a robbery reflects their shared desire for change and escape from their respective hardships.
However, as the plan spirals out of control and tragedy strikes, PSYCHE is forced to confront the consequences of her actions and grapple with her own moral compass. The presence of Mr Hsieh, the store owner, adds an additional layer of tension and dark humor to the narrative, highlighting the complexities of human interactions and the unpredictability of fate.
Through "Robbery," I aim to challenge conventional notions of right and wrong and explore the grey areas of morality. By blending elements of thriller, drama, love, dark humor, and heist genres, the film offers a unique and thought-provoking viewing experience.
