Rien Ne Va Plus
“Rien ne va plus” (a French term used in gambling that translates into “no more bets”) is a psychological drama with a touch of black humor. The film emphasizes cynical attitude and monetary motivations. It is the story of Chris Kowalski, who plans his suicide in a hospital. Dr. Coltry seems to go along with Chris’ plans and arranges a fatal betting scheme to give Chris wife Trish and himself extra income: a group of Asian gamblers are invited to watch the suicide and bet which lethal weapon Chris will choose to end his life. It turns out that Coltry and Trish are emotionally involved and want to remove Chris so they can cash in the life insurance money and the betting proceedings.
Things get complicated for the two cheaters when young and sexy Nurse Adele assists her secret love Chris to turn his seemingly successful suicide into an unexpected ending.
