RIVER

Shiyu Hu is a Los Angeles based director, currently still studying film in University of Southern California. She has directed and edited more than 20 short films. She is a very feeling-driven person and filmmaker, with artistic pursue. She loves to travel and find intriguing subjects that share mutual energies. She also tells story about interesting women with different syndromes. Most women have very self-destructive inner self, they are usually contradictory, weaker, lack of self-confidence, and unaware of their own value. They give her ideas and motivations to create stories. She thinks a good film does not always provide answers to the audiences but is successful if it makes people question, of where they are now and where they want themselves to be. Despite medium, she plays with metaphors and different forms of media, as long as the right story is told in a correct way.
