R.I.P
At a student party, Dhalila looks for her friend Peace. She discovers her in a room, sitting on the bed and seems totally haggard.
Suddenly Dhalila discovers a man behind the bed, dead.
What happened? Peace stammers that the man attacked her, that she just defended herself. She didn't want to kill him.
Dhalila then sees a phone in Peace's hand. The police are on their way and Peace wants Dhalila to give false testimony to protect her.
Dhalila expresses her disagreement, she should not have called the police. She drank, smoked. They were seen going into the room together. Everything accuses him.
Panicked, Dhalila begins to try to hide the body using the bed sheets. Peace then approaches her friend to try to calm her down. Dhalila is convinced that they will be caught and sent back to the country. She doesn't want to live there again, to endure the hell of her parents again.
Police siren lights through the window catch Peace's panicked gaze.
Peace reassures her friend. They have always been there for each other. This will still be the case today, they will protect themselves. Nothing is going to happen to them. We just need to agree on a common version.
Downstairs, in the evening, the music stops. We hear the police entering. Peace collects his belongings scattered on the ground.
Dhalila stares at the bedroom door and remains frozen on the exit.
When Peace gets up, her friend is no longer there. The door is ajar.
We hear the police arriving. Peace is alone.

Paraclete series (fiction, drama, youth, comedy)
I wrote the movie R.I.P which stands for Rest In Peace because I wanted to make a related point. Along the way I met many liars in my relationships (family, friends, etc.) always seeing hypocrisy on this subject. I was exposed to this when I was young, watching my parents do kindness to people in the family and receiving theft, lies in return.
Dhalila is able to abandon her childhood best friend Peace for a rather difficult choice. But she makes the choice to betray her.
Is this a good thing to do or not? many will ask what they will do in this situation, and then someone can make their choice but the point is that even our intimate relationships can be hypocritical with us.
