RI-SCOSSA
RI-SCOSSA (redemption), is a docu-film about the history of Gibellina, a rural village in western Sicily located in the Valle del Belìce, canceled first by the earthquake of 1968 and later by the state, first with the definitive destruction of countries favoring the emigration of mass, then with the abandonment of the people remained in the barracks for a decade, and finally with the joke of the reconstruction. An odyssey that generated a riot in the soul of the people who fought hard for the right to reconstruction, which occurred in other places without even thinking about the social and cultural identity that was swept away. The mayor Ludovico Corrao involved the most important artists of the time to promote a rebirth through the memory expressed with art and above all with the theater on the ruins, transformed into the Cretto by Alberto Burri. Gibellina, after the death of Corrao, is a reality suspended in the typical drama in which things are interrupted and prevails degradation, a universal metaphor that extends throughout Italy.

Dario Indelicato was born in Erice, in the province of Trapani, where he began training as an operator and graphic designer for video at the age of 18 at a Rai service and a provincial television. After moving to Rome a year later, where he still lives and works, he began his professional career in the world of cinema following a film course with Giuseppe Ferrara and Massimo Pirri and subsequently working constantly as editor and DIT (digital imaging technician). ). In the early years he collaborated as an assistant editor with Babak Karimi, later as editor and DIT (digital imaging technician) working with important national directors such as Maurizio Zaccaro, Luca Miniero, Marco Risi, Roberto Andò, Marco Simon Puccioni, Marco Bellocchio, Daniele Ciprì, Matteo Rovere, but also with many young beginners with whom he has obtained many satisfactions. He has worked in film, TV movies, short films, documentaries, commercials and video clips.
The idea of the film stems from the need to tell a story related to my personal memory, having origins Gibibini from mother I grew up in Gibellina new until my grandparents were alive, and the relationship between individual and cultural identity to which I'm very attached. I have always seen this story as something epic, an odyssey from which a Sicilian people was reborn through art as an instrument of memory and culture as a weapon of defense against the indifference of the state, a story that deserved to be told.
The key to the story of the documentary adopts the formula of a fairy tale, as I have always heard and interpreted, which goes from Gibellina before the earthquake to the contemporary Gibellina, based on a narrative made of testimonies from those who lived in the first person this experience and re-enactments of historical facts through repertoire images, reproduced through an informal mask as if to look through the tunnel of memory. The signs of deterioration of some repertoires have been included as a sign of a memory that is being lost because it has not been seen for too long. The places of Gibellina Nuova, of the Fondazione Orestiadi and above all of Cretto di Burri are also observed as a labyrinth of memory. Along the documentary the figure of a pregnant mule is interspersed that will give birth to a puppy, as if to represent a force of nature that is not consumed but always brings to light its existential purpose, a sign of hope and confidence towards the future. The purpose of the documentary is indeed to bring out a faded memory and seize it as a universal metaphor to sensitize the viewer towards the protection of cultural heritage as the holder of the identity of a people, a fundamental resource with which to build their own future.
