(RE)PUBLIC ENEMY
“(Re)public Enemy” is a documentary about the fight of ordinary citizens against human rights violations and the suppression of fundamental freedoms by the SNSD-led government of Republika Srpska. Featuring testimonies from victims, protest participants, key political figures and former associates of Milorad Dodik, the film examines the regime’s descent into authoritarianism – from enacting oppressive laws to brutally silencing dissent and suppressing media freedom. It reflects on 18 years of one-man rule while chronicling the personal struggles of those who dared to defy the system.

Vladimir Šušak: I have been working in journalism since 1997. Early in my career, I chose TV journalism, progressing through various roles, including journalist and reporter, news anchor, editor, host of special programs, election debates, and investigative journalism shows. I gained experience at local TV stations as well as through numerous other media outlets and projects. My focus in investigative journalism has been on topics such as corruption and crime, war crimes and dealing with the past, gender equality, child segregation, and environmental issues/energy transition. I have always maintained an analytical and documentary approach to the subjects I covered, which has proven invaluable. I have worked with media outlets such as BEL TV, ATV Banja Luka, and BHRT, and collaborated with production companies and media projects like BIRN, Capital, Mreža Plus, and XY Films. Currently, I serve as the Coordinator of the Information and Technical Center of BHT1 in Banja Luka, where I also work as an editor and reporter. I was born in Zadar in 1975 and currently live and work in Banja Luka.
Davor Obrdalj is a journalist and documentarian with a focus on investigative reporting, crime, and corruption. A graduate in journalism from the University of Sarajevo, he began his professional career in 2012 at Federal Television, working in the news program and the political magazine Mreža. From 2016 to 2019, he served as an investigative journalist for the magazine Žurnal, where he won the European Union Award for Best Video Story on Corruption. He has also worked for Nova BH TV, Una TV, and O Channel, where he was the editor of the program Diagnosis of the Week.
He is the author of notable documentaries, including The Underground Ruler (EU award-winning), Disappearance, Tender on Prescription, and Pandora's Box. His works are characterized by in-depth investigations and critical reflections on social anomalies. His areas of expertise include television journalism, video editing, and multimedia production.

Through testimonies from victims, activists, and former political insiders, it exposes a regime’s authoritarian tendencies while highlighting the resilience of those who stood up against oppression. (Re)public Enemy addresses universal themes of justice, civic courage, and the cost of freedom, making it highly relevant in today’s world. My goal is to inspire critical reflection and spark dialogue about the importance of safeguarding democratic values. Your festival’s commitment to amplifying impactful stories aligns perfectly with the mission of this film.
