Director Statement

Despite the occasional joys, the creative process can be miserable. Morsels of inspiration gestating over many weeks, months or years that start to lose their originality, verve and meaning as more and more people get involved. Occasionally this collaborative effort improves upon those morsels, often it can work against them rendering them meaningless when all is said and done. I often hear the phrase ‘drowning your babies’ in this context. I don’t have babies, so I liken it to losing your best friend. Then I lost a best friend and RAV1043 became something else entirely.
