Quiet Evening
In this minimalist film, the camera slowly rotates under a concrete railing of a balcony, creating a narrow slit through which we can see the street below. The focus is on the edge of the balcony, so everything else is blurred. We hear the sounds of the evening, such as cicadas and dogs barking, but no human voices. As the camera turns, we see a light flicker on and off in the distance. The street becomes less and less visible, until it is almost completely obscured by the wall. It is evening, and we feel that it will soon be dark. The film ends.

Martin Lombok is an experimental filmmaker born in 1969 in the Czech Republic. He lives alternately in the Czech Republic and Denmark. He works with technologies and film language to express his personal vision of the world.
I made this film as an experiment with the camera and the sound. I wanted to create a film that is not about telling a story, but about showing a moment. A moment that is ordinary and extraordinary at the same time. A moment that is full of beauty and mystery. A moment that is both real and unreal. I wanted to challenge the viewers to look at the world in a different way, to pay attention to the details and the movements, to listen to the sounds and the silence, to feel the emotions and the sensations. I wanted to make a film that is not a representation of reality, but a reflection of it.
