Giulia Savorani (1988, IT) is a filmmaker, teacher and artist. She studied at Brera Academy of Fine Art and Iuav University of Venice, with a specialization in moving images art. Her research focuses on the idea of art as a process of emancipation from the subtle violence that underlies every relationship through its dynamics of power. In her practice different media and languages – film, animation, installation, sound, painting, sculpture, analog and digital technologies – are used to reflect on the impositive dynamics of intimate and social relationships. The same artistic practice becomes a place for learning process in which are probed the psychic relationships that are constantly activated.
Giulia held artist residencies at Bains Connective (Bruxelles), Re-framing home movies (Cagliari, Torino, Bergamo). Last year she presented her films and installations during Biennal IKSV parallel events (Istanbul, TR), Macro Asilo (Rome, IT), 55a Mostra
Internazionale del Nuovo Cinema di Pesaro (IT), Filmmaker Fsetival (Milan, IT) and she took part to the The end of species a project curated and presented by Zapruder Filmmakersgroup where she performed alongside other artists.
